The claim
Christianity does not rest on a cloud, or on any image. It rests on a person who lived in a specific place at a specific time, was executed publicly, and whose followers insisted — at the cost of their own lives — that they had seen Him alive again afterward.
Why it matters
Every one of us carries the knowledge that we are not what we should be. We have hurt people. We have broken our own word. The Bible has an unfashionable word for this — sin — and it does not soften it.
What it also says is that God did not leave us there.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
The offer
Not a reward for cleaning yourself up first. A gift, offered to people in no condition to earn it. What it asks is that you turn toward Him and trust Him — not that you become impressive.

There are no magic words. But if you do not know what to say, you can start here, and mean it:
Jesus, I do not have this figured out. I know I have fallen short, and I know I cannot fix that myself. I believe You died for me and that God raised You. I am turning to You. Be my Lord and my Savior. Teach me to follow You.
